課程概述

General Information

The global management forum course enables students to develop knowledge in the Global ESG issues and identify possible solution via Innovation / Strategic Planning Framework to develop practical proposal to CHTI.

GMF class will cooperate with Chung-Hwa Telecomm International (CHTI) Division to provide student basic understanding of telecommunication industry future business challenge and issues.

This course will also teach students with IBM strategic planning methodology Business Leadership Model (BLM) as the framework to prepare CHTI business solution proposals.

GMF will help students to know CHTI business issues in their facing challenging and opportunities from the following different perspectives:
People – Enhancing and developing competencies to manage people across national and cultural boundaries.
Processes – Integrating knowledge development, product procurement, manufacturing, and distribution for a global supply chain.
Product design – Managing internal and external environments such as globally-dispersed stakeholders, corporate vision, and cross-border regulations in targeted international market.


Introduction to IBM Business Leadership Model

This Global Management Forum course is focusing on the challenges and opportunities associated with Chung-Hwa Telecomm. International BU (CHTI) organizational management expansion and business strategy particular in the Asia Pacific region.
We will teach and use IBM business leadership model (BLM) as the core form Driving Strategy into Action based on the information provided by CHTI.
BLM can help to explore business enterprise strategic management models that are developed from this framework and identify how the discrepancy between a company’s current situation and its goals drives the organization to be flexible in employing a set of strategic execution formulas.
Analysis performed under the structure of the business leadership model divides the concept of strategy into strategic intent, marketplace insight, innovation focus, and business design; the concept of execution is divided into talent, formal organization, critical task, climate and culture.
We will include exploring the topic of strategic management theory and the difference in applied models used by CHTI and also look at actual examples from CHTI and explore how students can use BLM framework to bring about internal adjustments in strategy when faced with gaps in performance.
We plan to invite CHTI responsible managers to conduct in-depth introduction session and interviews with supervisors of relevant departments who have decision-making authority in CHTI company.
Our major goal is to confirm the BLM that were applied and how they were actually able to help the company achieve competitive advantages.
The course is intended to be a challenging upper-level class for students who wish to explore the telecom. Industries exciting domain of globalization with a specific view on the future.
Students will gain a general overview of the company competitiveness worldwide. We will take opportunities to visit CHTI and their daily operation in real life.
Students will engage in active research and analytical problem solving related to select business extension in the global region for future growth. 

課程目標
The class will introduce Taiwan Chung-Hwa Telecommunication the students and build a platform which provide direct communication among business operation entities and our international students.
Through the business visiting and meetings, the students will learn how CHTI making decision and execute tasks in real world.
We will provide CHTI as the real company business issues for students to have hands-on practice and equip the basic business consultation skill boot camp, communication skill training to the students to prepare the final presentation to CHTI executives. 
課程要求
Class Contract:
-Students will fail this class if he/she has 2 or more serious late attendance (10 minutes) or absence.
-Student should maintain proper business manner while visiting the guest companies/organizations.
-No late attendant during the visiting trip and be punctuate upon group gathering time.
-Students will need to submit their group assignments of case analysis at the final session and 30 minutes presentation from each group.
-The shuttle bus for the assigned company/site visits with the whole class participation will be arranged by TA and the related expense will be covered by the GMBA office.
-The Students will be divided into 3-5 groups to study the company business issues and prepare the final business solution proposal.
-We only invite the registered students to visit business companies.
-The students will agree to grant the final English report publishing right to the CHTI company when they register this class . ( Please do not register this class if you do not agree )

Class Scores
1,1 Individual Study Report (20%) :
-Q1 Read : CHT & CHTI Company Profile from website
-Q2 Read : The Analysis of Business Leadership Model: A Case Study
-Submit 2 pages ( one page each ) personal report with WORD format by 2022/3/11
Each person needs to submit personal report by 2020 3/11.
1.2 BLM workshop team participation & result (40%)
- Each group will consist of 3-5 Students with assigned business issue
- Each group should hold team meeting to discuss assigned business issue and complete the results for their study business issues.
- We will teach BLM framework in the BLM Tool sessions and provide opportunity for the team to discuss and complete the final report.
- Each group needs to submit the final study deliverables with one WORD report and & PPT for final presentation by 2022 / 5 / 25
1.3 Final outcome presentation ( 40%)-
- Each team will need to present the final report to CHTI executives and
professors . ( 2022/5/27 or 2022/6/3 )
- Each team will have 30 min, presentation and 10 min. for Q&A

Remarks :
- Each team should study CHT ESG report from their Website.
- Pick up one International Telecomm Operator to study their sustainability report .
- CHTI will arrange ESG / Social Impact Class with certificated consultant to share one dat ESG/Social impact class.
- CHTI will present cash award to the top 3 outstanding performance team after final presentation .
- All the team members will receive CHTI/GMBA certificate if they pass this course.
- CHTI will offer summer internship to the students if they are interested.
